Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping Lead to oversee all aspects of shipping operations within our logistics and distribution network. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate and manage the end-to-end shipping process, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient delivery of products. Your leadership will drive process improvements, uphold safety and regulatory standards, and foster a high-performance team committed to excellence in logistics management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in optimizing supply chain workflows and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective shipping logistics. Duties Lead and supervise the shipping team to ensure seamless order fulfillment, picking & packing, and dispatching activities Oversee warehouse distribution processes, including inventory management, materials handling, and warehouse operations Coordinate transportation planning and road transportation operations utilizing transportation management systems (TMS) to optimize freight routes and costs Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL), freight carriers, and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) partners to ensure compliance and efficiency Implement process improvements in shipping logistics, inventory control, packaging standards, and regulatory compliance to increase productivity and reduce costs Monitor transportation safety regulations and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols during shipping & receiving activities Utilize ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, CMMS, and Microsoft Office tools for data analysis, reporting, and operational planning Ensure accurate documentation for international trade regulations, customs clearance, and compliance with transportation safety standards Conduct regular team management activities including training, performance reviews, scheduling, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement Requirements Proven experience in logistics management with a focus on shipping logistics within a supply chain environment Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or similar software Expertise in freight forwarding, international trade regulations, procurement, sourcing, and demand planning Demonstrated ability to manage transportation planning, fleet management, dispatching, and materials handling operations Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting Valid forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or CMMS tools Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards Strong understanding of regulatory compliance related to shipping & receiving processes across domestic and international markets Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control, pricing strategies, category management, and procurement processes Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly across departments and external partners #SAN123
