Job Description
We are looking for a Safety / Traffic Coordinator for a project-based position in Fullerton. 2nd shift 3pm - 12:00am + overtime + weekends as needed. Key Responsibilities Monitor and enforce safe traffic flow of forklifts, trucks, and pedestrian workers within plant areas. Ensure clear separation of pedestrian walkways and forklift operating zones. Enforce mandatory stopping procedures at intersections, blind corners, dock doors, and pedestrian crossings. Ensure forklift operators follow speed limits, horn use rules, and stop-and-look protocols. Investigate near-misses and incidents involving vehicles or pedestrians and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to reduce traffic congestion during peak operations. Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce traffic-related risks. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong understanding of forklift operations and pedestrian safety practices Ability to observe, correct, and document unsafe behaviors Good communication and training skills Attention to detail and strong situational awareness Core Safety Focus Forklifts must stop at all designated intersections and pedestrian crossings Pedestrians must have right-of-way in marked walkways Eye contact or acknowledgment required between drivers and pedestrians before movement Zero tolerance for unsafe bypassing of stop points or blocked sightlines Fluent Spanish/English required Public speaking (Able to present Safety Meetings in large groups) Knowledge in Injury reporting
