Our products are used by over 1,000 fire departments, as well as military and educational institutions across the U.S. and internationally. In addition to our training systems, we provide contract manufacturing solutions to a diverse set of industries. Since 1997, we have maintained a fast-paced, quality-driven environment where continuous improvement and problem-solving are part of everyday performance. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Packaging and Shipping Specialistis responsible for preparing finished products for shipment and coordinating outbound logistics. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem solving. Responsibilities Packaging Package finished goods, components, and equipment into crates, boxes, and palletized loads according to company standards. Build and secure large wooden crates and pallets for domestic and international shipments. Package materials for shipment based on work orders. Pack items with care, using proper packing materials and procedures. Ensure that packed items are sealed, labeled, and have all necessary accompanying documentation. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move shipments. Transport packed items from packaging area to staging area. Maintain organization of yard staging areas. Assist in loading trucks and verifying outgoing shipments. Arrange for an adequate supply of shipping materials. Forward pick requests to inventory in a timely manner. Logistics Coordination Coordinate and schedule truck pickups with freight, LTL and logistics providers. Maintain approved logistics vendors list. Prepare BOLs and other shipping documents as instructed by logistics providers. Communicate shipment schedules with appropriate stakeholders. Paperwork and Tracking Update internal ERP system with shipment status and information. Mark items as "Shipped" in the internal ERP system. Prepare, maintain and file appropriate documentation. Provide driver contact information to receiver. Additional Requirements Assist in inventory, receiving, and purchasing when necessary. Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting and carrying. Job requires working inside and outside in environments that present occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Ability to lift 100 pounds. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, keeping your area clean and organized etc. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Maintain full compliance with company policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Fireblast Guide to Business Conduct. Support Lean and 5S initiatives. Participate in daily continuous improvement projects. Perform other related duties as required. Preferred Background 2-3+ years in shipping, packaging, or warehouse logistics in a manufacturing environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Forklift experience and certification are strongly preferred.
