Starts at $26.00 (Higher rates available depending on experience) We are seeking an experienced Shipping Lead to oversee steel loadout operations in a fast-paced structural steel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, accurate, and on-time shipments while leading and supporting the shipping team. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily steel loadout operations and shipping activities Ensure materials are safely loaded, secured, and shipment-ready Verify load accuracy, material markings, and shipping documentation Coordinate with logistics, production, and shop teams to meet delivery schedules Maintain accurate load tickets and shipping records using production/shipping software Train and support new team members Lead daily team safety meetings and enforce safety standards Identify opportunities for operational improvements Provide hands-on leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel material handling or shipping operations At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience Experience operating overhead cranes, telehandlers, vertical mast lifts, and forklifts Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or similar production/shipping software preferred Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
