Job Description

Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. The Warehouse shift supervisor directs/supervises the workforce on day-to-day operations/shifts, safety, and people within the warehouse. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)
Essential Position Functions:
  • Supervision of the order fulfillment process at assigned distribution center.
  • Responsible for the inspection of all material handling equipment and truck fleet and coordination of necessary repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates routing and dispatch of daily shipping activities with in-house drivers, couriers and freight carriers.
  • Provides oversight for warehouse activities including daily operations, facility and grounds maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Tracks productivity to meet company requirements and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinates safety, systems and job specific training for warehouse associates and drivers.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and provides timely follow up to problem resolution to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Completes receiving and shipping warehouse activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
