This role is critical to ensuring timely, compliant, and cost‑effective movement of material while coordinating with drivers, carriers, terminals, yards, and customers. The ideal candidate has strong dispatching experience and thrives in a fast‑paced, operations‑driven environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule shipments via OTR trucking, roll‑off containers, rail, barge, and export containers
  • Dispatch and manage OTR carriers and drivers, including load scheduling, routing, and appointment coordination
  • Coordinate roll‑off container placement, swaps, and removals with internal fleets or third‑party haulers
  • Communicate load details, pickup/delivery instructions, and safety requirements to drivers and carriers
  • Prepare and review export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, AES filings, and certificates as required
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with OTR carriers, railroads, barge operators, roll‑off haulers, steamship lines, terminals, and freight forwarders
  • Track shipments and truck movements; proactively resolve delays, missed appointments, or service issues
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, U.S. export requirements, carrier rules, and company policies
  • Verify freight rates, trucking charges, fuel surcharges, demurrage, detention, and accessorial fees
  • Maintain accurate shipment, container, and trucking records
  • Support yard flow, loading schedules, inventory movement, and daily operations planning
  • Identify opportunities to improve routing efficiency, carrier performance, and logistics costs Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, dispatch, or transportation coordination
  • Hands‑on experience with OTR trucking, including dispatching and carrier communication
  • Experience with roll‑off container logistics, rail, barge, and export shipments
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and export documentation
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple live shipments in a fast‑paced environment
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in scrap, recycling, commodities, bulk materials, or industrial logistics
  • Familiarity with ports, rail ramps, inland terminals, and container yards
  • Experience managing carrier relationships and spot freight
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade practices What We Offer
