Job Description

Position:
Receiving Lead Summary:
The Receiving Lead oversees the receiving department, ensuring incoming shipments are received, inspected, documented, and stored accurately. This role leads the receiving team, maintains inventory accuracy, and coordinates with warehouse, purchasing, and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and train receiving staff. Coordinate daily receiving activities and assign workloads. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies. Ensure accurate inventory transactions in the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP. Maintain organized receiving and storage areas. Communicate with vendors, purchasing, and transportation teams regarding shipment issues. Enforce safety procedures and company policies. Monitor productivity and prepare receiving reports. Assist with inventory counts and audits.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree preferred). 2-5 years of warehouse or receiving experience. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience with inventory management systems . Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification may be required). Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.
