Job description VisionFirst is seeking an individual who is able to prioritize, work independently, and multitask in a fast-paced environment to fill a full-time position of Tissue Placement Coordinator for our Indianapolis office. Our Tissue Placement Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of ocular tissue placement; specifically, the offering, acceptance, and shipment of ocular tissue. Good interpersonal communication skills are needed to interact with personnel internally as well as health care professionals outside of our organization. Confidentiality of all donor related information is a must. VisionFirst is open 24/7. Working on evenings and on weekends may be required to perform the tasks outlined in this job description. Therefore, flexibility is required including weekday, evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Comprehensive training is provided to ensure tissue safety, within required standards, and with respect and dignity to the donor and their family. All VisionFirst employees follow requirements of the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), VisionFirst Standard Operating Procedures, State and Federal regulations and the FDA. Major Duties and Responsibilities Performs and/or coordinates the scheduling of ocular transplants. Strategically allocate donated tissues with national and international surgeons, placement facilitators, eye banks or other appropriate users of donated ocular tissue. Maintain up-to-date surgery schedule and tissue requests. Manages all aspects of shipments including generation of shipping documents and documents to accompany tissue, coordination of logistics, or scheduling domestic/international freight forwarders. Prepare and package tissues for transport. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Possess a Bachelor's Degree (BS) from an accredited college or university or have equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess a valid driver's license. Demonstrated experience in relationship building.
