The Warehouse Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, supervising warehouse personnel, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials throughout the facility. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production operations, and promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. We are accepting resumes for a permanent position located in Addis, LA. The job works a 12-hour shift style schedule (days and nights and rotating weekends and holidays).
Responsibilities Warehouse Operations:
Supervise the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, staging, shipping, and material movement. Ensure workflows are completed efficiently and accurately to support production and customer needs.
Team Leadership:
Lead, train, coach, and motivate warehouse personnel. Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory accuracy by monitoring stock levels, coordinating cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records using company inventory management systems.
Receiving & Shipping:
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure materials and finished products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on schedule. Verify shipping and receiving documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Material Coordination:
Ensure production areas have the necessary materials to maintain uninterrupted operations. Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to prioritize material movement and resolve shortages.
Quality Control:
Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies. Ensure quality standards are maintained and communicate any issues to the appropriate departments.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Safety & Compliance:
Promote a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and warehouse best practices. Conduct safety observations and ensure employees utilize proper equipment and procedures.
Warehouse Organization:
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse by ensuring materials are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible. Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance inventory control. Recommend and implement process improvements when appropriate. Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or manufacturing required. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material handling practices. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or inventory software preferred. Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, inventory reports, and production schedules. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical warehouse duties throughout the workday.
