Job Overview The Night Shift Warehouse Lead is a strong, hands-on leader responsible for overseeing safe, efficient, and accurate warehouse operations. This role leads and supports the team, sets clear expectations, maintains accountability, and ensures shift priorities are completed. The ideal candidate is a visible leader who can motivate and develop the team while stepping in to assist when needed. Responsibilities Lead the night shift warehouse team, setting priorities, assigning work, and maintaining accountability for shift performance. Ensure safe, accurate, and on-time warehouse and outbound shipping operations. Monitor staffing, attendance, workload, and productivity; address gaps and escalate issues as needed. Maintain adherence to SOPs, safety standards, schedules, and established warehouse processes. Coach, develop, and cross-train employees while addressing performance issues consistently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Partner with Production, QA, Maintenance, Transportation, and other departments to resolve operational issues. Monitor inventory and shipping accuracy and ensure discrepancies are addressed promptly. Communicate shift performance, issues, and priorities clearly to warehouse leadership. Support continuous improvement and implementation of new processes and technology. Leadership Expectations The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who sets clear expectations, holds the team accountable, and maintains a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. They should communicate effectively, remain calm under pressure, solve problems at the root cause, and develop their team through coaching and cross-training. The lead should be comfortable balancing the needs of the operation with the responsibility to lead the entire shift. Experience 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing logistics, or related operations experience preferred. 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Food manufacturing, cold storage, or high-volume shipping experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of warehouse safety, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and scheduling. Experience with ERP/WMS, scanning, timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office preferred. Ability to work in freezer/cold-storage environments. Availability to work the assigned night shift, with occasional weekend or holiday coverage as needed.
