This includes oversight of team members, maintaining accurate inventory records, managing temperature-sensitive product handling, and ensuring efficient and safe operations. Below is a brief outline of the essential job functions and duties, which may be adjusted by management from time to time. Essential Job Functions/Duties 1. Lead daily operations of shipping and receiving functions, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination with internal and external parties. 2. Organize and manage product flow and staging within the cooler, freezer, and dock areas to ensure efficient space usage and timely movement of goods. 3. Ensure proper handling and storage of temperature-controlled products, including monitoring temperatures and enforcing cold chain compliance. 4. Coordinate loading and unloading activities, ensuring accuracy in counts, documentation, and product condition. 5. Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work environment in dock, cooler, and freezer spaces. 6. Oversee organization of palletized goods, racks, and pick locations in the cooler and freezer to optimize accessibility and FIFO rotation. 7. Train and guide team members on correct procedures for product handling, staging, and equipment use. 8. Communicate with drivers, carriers, and dispatch teams to coordinate efficient dock scheduling and reduce wait times. 9. Verify and reconcile inventory movements using company software, handheld scanners, and/or paper-based logs. 10. Assist in inventory cycle counts, physical inventories, and root cause investigation for variances. 11. Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely in both dry and cold storage areas. 12. Enforce safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures per regulatory and company standards. Qualifications & Education Requirements 1. High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or industry certification preferred. 2. 2+ years of warehouse or cold storage experience, with 1+ years in a leadership role. 3. Experience working in cooler and freezer environments with perishable goods preferred. 4. Knowledge of warehouse layout optimization, slotting, and
FIFO/LIFO
rotation. 5. Proficiency in warehouse management systems and basic Microsoft Office skills. 6. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities. 7. Ability to work in cold conditions (freezer, cooler) for extended periods. 8. Forklift and electric pallet jack certification preferred. 9. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in cold environments. Physical/Mental Requirements Exposure to cold environments (cooler and freezer up to -10°F), fast-paced dock operations, and moving equipment. Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Use of PPE such as insulated gloves, freezer suits, and safety footwear required.
