Landscape Crew Leader / Winter Snow Route Leader

Job Description Palmer's Lawn Care Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Crew Leader to join our growing team. In this leadership role, you will supervise a landscape crew and ensure the efficient, high-quality completion of landscape installation, renovation, and maintenance projects. During the winter season, this position transitions into a Snow Plow and Salt Route Leader role. The Crew Leader will be responsible for leading an assigned route, safely operating snow and ice-management equipment, and ensuring properties are serviced thoroughly and on schedule. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of motivating a team while maintaining company standards and producing professional results in all weather conditions. We are a professional landscaping and snow-management company equipped with modern, well-maintained equipment—including a mulch blower—allowing our crews to work efficiently while focusing on quality and productivity. Landscaping Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a landscape crew Plan, organize, and prioritize daily tasks to maintain an efficient workflow Lead and participate in landscape renovations, installations, trimming, planting, mulching, and general maintenance Oversee landscape projects from start to completion Train crew members on proper techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures Monitor work quality and ensure adherence to company standards Conduct site inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential improvements Manage equipment usage and inventory and report repair needs Communicate with management regarding job progress, scheduling, and crew performance Safely operate trucks, trailers, and commercial landscaping equipment Winter Snow and Ice Responsibilities Serve as a Snow Plow and Salt Route Leader during the winter season Lead and complete an assigned commercial snow-plowing and salting route Coordinate route activities and direct other crew members when assigned Monitor weather and property conditions throughout snow and ice events Ensure all assigned properties are serviced safely, thoroughly, and on schedule Properly document completed services and communicate route progress or issues to management Safely operate snowplows, salt spreaders, trucks, and other snow-management equipment Inspect equipment before and after each event and promptly report damage or repair needs Maintain open availability throughout the winter for on-call snow and ice work Be available to work days, nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays whenever winter weather requires service Schedule Landscaping work is typically scheduled Monday through Friday An optional four-day, 10-hour workweek may be available Winter snow and ice work is performed on an on-call basis and determined by weather conditions Open and dependable availability is required during winter weather events, including days, nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays Required Qualifications Proven landscape crew-leadership or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, plants, renovations, and installation techniques Previous commercial snow-plowing and salting experience required Ability to independently lead and complete an assigned commercial snow-and-ice route Experience safely operating commercial landscaping and snow-management equipment Excellent leadership, communication, time-management, and organizational skills Ability to delegate tasks and maintain crew productivity and quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier Reliable transportation to report to work during snow and ice events Dependable and able to respond promptly when called in for winter weather service What We Offer $25.00-$30.00 per hour based on experience Monday-through-Friday landscaping schedule Optional four-day, 10-hour workweek Winter work as a Snow Plow and Salt Route Leader
