19 days, 6 hours left The facility is expanding its workforce to maintain 24/7 continuous operations for moving shipping containers across its high-volume Columbus rail and logistics park.
Pay range : $20/hr to $20.99/hr
MISSION:
Safely and efficiently operate heavy yard equipment and manage ground logistics to keep freight moving on time within a unionized, fast-paced intermodal facility.
DAY TO DAY
Drive hostlers and big rigs to position containers and chassis, backing up under cranes and parking in designated spots.
Connect and disconnect hitches and air hoses, clipping and unclipping safely on the ground crew.
Climb up and down rail cars while performing pre- and post-use equipment inspections.
Maintain clear lines under cranes and coordinate moves with yard personnel and supervisors.
MUST HAVES
Valid driver's license (no CDL required) and open availability for swing or night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb ladders/stairs on railcars, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Strong commitment to safety protocols in a strict, high-priority industrial environment.
Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening
The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen.
PLUSSES:
Previous outdoor or hands-on experience in landscape, delivery driving, or forklift operation.
Prior experience in intermodal or rail yard operations.
Familiarity with container handling equipment such as hostlers, top loaders, side loaders, or cranes.
Existing CDL or equipment certifications. This is a direct hire opportunity. The selected candidate will be employed directly by our client.
