This leadership role involves managing team members, coordinating logistics, and maintaining optimal inventory control within a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong managerial skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems and safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team and contribute to continuous process improvement within our distribution center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for allocation of resources, while ensuring employees are meeting safety and production goals
- Schedule work for employees to ensure priorities and customer demands are being met
- Work with, and develop employees within their positions
- Develop training schedules for new hires, as well as existing employees for cross-training purposes
- Route and manifest outbound customer deliveries
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and recognition to team members
- Address performance or conduct issues promptly through verbal counseling, written warnings, and other disciplinary measures in line with company policy
- Conduct fair investigations into workplace incidents, documenting findings and collaborating with HR when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of performance discussions and disciplinary actions.
- Operate hi-lo's and overhead cranes as needed to move material within the facility
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience working in a steel environment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including but not limited to; safety rules, and operating procedures
- Ability to oversee individuals and prioritize work expectations
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- High-level of safety awareness and precaution
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
