Job Description

Coastal Employment is currently hiring an experienced Receiving Shift Lead for a growing manufacturing and warehouse operation in Early Branch, SC. Flexibility Required:
Employees must be willing to move to another shift as business needs require: 1st

  • 6:30 AM Overtime and weekends may be required based on workload.
Training Schedule First Week:
8:00 AM

THE ROLE
As a Receiving Shift Lead , you'll be responsible for helping oversee the day-to-day receiving operation while leading and supporting a team of warehouse associates. You'll help ensure incoming materials and products are received accurately, inspected properly, entered into inventory, organized, and moved efficiently throughout the warehouse. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll be expected to lead by example, solve problems, keep your team moving, and ensure the operation runs safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily receiving activities. Assign tasks and manage workflow throughout the shift. Lead, coach, and motivate warehouse associates. Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and performance. Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate operational priorities. Coordinate unloading, staging, inspection, and storage of incoming materials. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documentation. Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, overages, and quality concerns. Ensure inventory is received accurately and timely into the WMS/ERP system . Maintain inventory accuracy and report receiving discrepancies. Investigate and help resolve issues involving suppliers, carriers, inventory, equipment, and workflow. Work closely with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Shipping, Picking, Production, and Operations teams. Organize and properly stage received materials for efficient movement and storage. Sort and divide shipping batches accurately in designated areas. Assist with loading and securing freight onto trucks to help ensure on-time departures. Ensure outdoor inventory is properly wrapped and labeled to protect materials from weather and damage. Train new employees on warehouse procedures, equipment, safety, and company expectations. Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and work instructions. Monitor proper use of forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Report equipment issues and maintenance needs. Identify opportunities to improve receiving processes, productivity, accuracy, and efficiency. Assist with workforce planning and scheduling based on business demands. Support investigations involving inventory variances, receiving discrepancies, and customer concerns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Step in and perform hands-on warehouse duties when needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who can take ownership of a shift and lead from the front. The ideal candidate is an experienced warehouse professional who understands that successful receiving operations require accuracy, organization, communication, speed, and accountability. Requirements 3-5 years of warehouse experience , preferably in a manufacturing or continuous warehouse environment. Previous lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS/ERP) and RF scanning equipment. Strong understanding of receiving, inventory control, shipping, and warehouse operations. Forklift experience and/or certification required/preferred. Knowledge of warehouse and manufacturing safety procedures. Ability to verify shipments and identify shortages, overages, damage, and discrepancies. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy. Ability to follow company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work for extended periods. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and different shifts when business needs require.
