This includes verifying shipment contents, preparing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring products are received and shipped in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.
Essential Functions Shipping Duties:
Prepare and pack items for shipment according to company and carrier standards Create and print shipping labels and bills of lading Schedule and coordinate pick-up with freight carriers and delivery services and coordinate with internal departments Inspect outgoing packages for damage or mislabeling Ensure outgoing shipments are properly packed, labeled and documented Track shipments and resolve delivery issues when necessary Track shipments and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays and other logistical issues
Receiving Duties:
Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices Record shortages, overages, or damages and report discrepancies Receive and label items for inventory Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment Organize received goods into inventory or designated storage areas
Administrative & Inventory:
Maintain and update records in the inventory management or ERP system Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures Organize and conduct cycle counts and audits of raw material and inventory as required Train and oversee shipping/receiving staff to ensure efficient workflow General guidelines Follow company conduct rules and guidelines Other duties as assigned Incentives Benefits offered the first of the month following 30 days of employment, include: medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, paid time off (sick and vacation), 9 company holidays, 401(k), etc. Referral Rewards program Requirements Previous experience (1+ year) in a lead or supervisory role High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred Strong organizational and record-keeping skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment Experience with ERP system (i.e. SAP, Oracle) is a plus Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Knowledge of shipping procedures documentation and carrier requirements Excellent communication and leadership skills Training and Experience Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or warehouse software Familiarity with shipping software and logistics platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS systems) Forklift certification is required Work Environment Manufacturing warehouse environment with exposure to machinery, noise and varying temperatures. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
