Environment:
Industrial repair facility; primarily climate-controlled, although some work areas may be warm Position Summary Omega Industrial Repair is seeking a dependable, hands-on Warehouse Lead to oversee the day-to-day activities of our shipping and receiving department. This position is responsible for leading a small warehouse team while actively working alongside them to ensure industrial equipment is received, handled, packaged, and shipped safely and efficiently. The Warehouse Lead will work from established shipping and order instructions provided by Sales and Customer Service. We are looking for someone who can follow instructions carefully, pay close attention to detail, communicate effectively, and recognize when an issue needs to be brought to management's attention. This is a hands-on leadership position, not a desk-only supervisory role. Key Responsibilities Lead, organize, and assign daily responsibilities to a team of approximately 2-4 warehouse employees Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations Follow established shipping instructions accurately, including carrier, service level, destination, and special handling requirements Schedule LTL freight and other carrier pickups and deliveries Prepare Bills of Lading (BOLs) and required shipping paperwork Package, palletize, strap, wrap, crate, and otherwise prepare industrial equipment for safe shipment Load and unload freight using a sit-down forklift Receive incoming customer equipment and route it according to established procedures Clean and paint repaired equipment as needed prior to shipment Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shipping and receiving area Ensure the warehouse team follows established company processes and safety procedures Communicate effectively with Sales and Customer Service when coordination or additional information is needed Identify potential problems, discrepancies, damage, or concerns and promptly communicate them to the General Manager Escalate unclear or conflicting instructions rather than making assumptions or independently changing shipping directions Keep the General Manager informed of workflow issues, freight delays, staffing concerns, or other situations that could affect operations Assist with inventory and system transactions as required Use company systems to properly document shipping and receiving activity; SAP experience is a plus Customer Interaction The Warehouse Lead will also be one of the employees customers may interact with when dropping off equipment for repair. This person must be able to: Professionally greet customers and vendors arriving at the facility Assist customers dropping off equipment for evaluation or repair Make sure incoming equipment is handled according to company procedures Communicate clearly and professionally Maintain a helpful, professional attitude even during busy periods Represent Omega Industrial Repair in a professional manner at all times Qualifications Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience required Previous warehouse lead or supervisory experience preferred Sit-down forklift experience required Experience scheduling LTL freight and preparing BOLs Experience packaging and handling industrial equipment strongly preferred SAP experience is a plus Basic computer skills Strong attention to detail Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to effectively assign work and hold a small team accountable Good judgment regarding when an issue should be escalated to management Comfortable communicating across departments, particularly with Sales and Customer Service Professional demeanor when interacting with customers, vendors, and freight carriers Comfortable performing hands-on work, including packaging, cleaning, painting, loading, and unloading industrial equipment Dependable and willing to work overtime when needed What Success Looks Like The right person for this role understands that Shipping's job is to execute the instructions provided accurately and efficiently. We are not looking for someone to independently change or reinterpret shipping instructions. We are looking for a lead who can keep their team organized, follow established processes, communicate when something looks wrong or unclear, and bring concerns to the General Manager before they become problems . This person should take ownership of the warehouse, communicate well with other departments, and understand that every shipment and every customer interaction is a reflection of Omega Industrial Repair.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
