And we have no plans of slowing down! Job Summary The AM Operations Lead is responsible for supporting the daily execution of warehouse and last-mile operations during the morning shift. This position serves as a hands-on floor leader, ensuring associates are properly assigned, packages are processed accurately and efficiently, and daily operational deadlines are met. The Operations Lead works closely with Operations Supervisors, Dispatch, Quality Assurance, Data, and warehouse associates to maintain a safe, organized, and productive operation. This role is expected to identify problems quickly, communicate issues to management, and help drive the team toward daily productivity and service goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily AM warehouse operations, including package processing, sorting, scanning, staging, and route preparation. Assist supervisors with assigning employees to work areas based on volume, staffing, and operational needs. Monitor employee productivity and ensure associates remain on task throughout the shift. Ensure packages are accurately sorted and staged to the correct routes and designated areas. Monitor package flow and identify bottlenecks, missorts, scanning issues, or other operational problems that could impact dispatch. Help ensure all inbound freight is processed and the warehouse is cleared within established operational timelines. Coordinate with Dispatch to ensure routes are properly staged and ready for driver pickup. Assist with driver checkout, package verification, and resolution of missing or incorrectly assigned packages when necessary. Monitor staffing levels and communicate shortages, call-outs, or additional labor needs to management. Provide direction, coaching, and training to warehouse associates and new employees. Enforce warehouse procedures, attendance expectations, productivity standards, and company policies. Maintain an organized and clean warehouse throughout the shift. Ensure carts, pallets, equipment, and work areas are properly organized and returned to designated locations. Immediately escalate safety hazards, employee injuries, damaged packages, equipment issues, or significant operational concerns. Assist management with investigating package discrepancies, missorts, lost packages, or other service failures. Communicate shift progress, outstanding issues, backlog, staffing concerns, and other relevant information to supervisors and management. Support Quality Control procedures and ensure employees follow proper scanning and package-handling processes. Assist with tracking daily operational metrics such as volume processed, productivity, staffing, backlog, and completion times. Help ensure a smooth transition between the AM operation and the next shift. Perform additional operational duties as assigned by management. Leadership Expectations Operations Leads are expected to be active leaders on the warehouse floor. This is not primarily a desk position. Leads should regularly monitor work areas, communicate with employees, address issues as they occur, and assist the operation wherever needed. The Operations Lead should set the standard for attendance, urgency, professionalism, safety, and accountability. Leads are expected to provide employees with clear direction while escalating disciplinary, staffing, or significant performance concerns to the Operations Supervisor or Manager. Qualifications Previous warehouse, logistics, distribution, or last-mile delivery experience preferred. Previous Lead or leadership experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to lead employees in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. Comfortable working with warehouse scanning systems, computers, and operational dashboards. Ability to identify operational problems and make quick decisions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to package accuracy. Ability to work independently while following direction from supervisors and management. Reliable attendance and ability to work the full scheduled shift, including overtime when operationally necessary. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical warehouse duties as required. Performance Expectations Success in this position will be measured by the Lead's ability to help the AM operation consistently achieve: On-time completion of daily warehouse processing. Accurate sorting, scanning, and staging of packages. Strong employee productivity and effective labor utilization. Minimal missorts and operational errors. Timely identification and escalation of operational issues. Safe and organized warehouse conditions. Effective communication between warehouse operations, Dispatch, and management. Successful execution of daily volume without unnecessary backlog. Consistent adherence to company procedures and operational standards. The AM Operations Lead is expected to take ownership of the operation while on shift and help ensure the team is prepared to successfully complete each day's volume safely, accurately, and on time.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
