About Our Opportunity We are seeking an Administrative Shipping Lead to work in Blairs, VA. This position will lead and direct efficient workflows associated with the Administrative and Operational requirements of the Shipping Department.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the daily Administrative Shipping functions in support of the departmental goal of 100% shipping administrative accuracy. Acts as a backup, assists and supports all Customer Service Account specialists. In conjunction with eh Outbound Manager, executes and revises assigned departmental SOPs to enhance quality, quantity, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Provide daily leadership of departmental workforce including providing direction, setting deadlines, training new employees and resolving problems. Responsible for maintaining records necessary for the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely reports. Works with Outbound manager to interview, select, and train employees to fill vacant positions. Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Stays current with developments within the manufacturing and distribution field and shares expertise with others. Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships. Performs daily review of Order Analysis and shipping schedules prioritizing customer orders for shipment. Performs Data Entry on Customer web-based routing system when necessary. Confers with managers / supervisors to obtain data required for planning and scheduling customer service order requests. Communicates with Corporate Customer Service on the progress of requested order information. Assists Outbound Manager daily on shipment progress to resolve problems and to ensure timely completion of work. Responsible for telephone communication from customers, assisting them with shipment information. Acts as a liaison for order discrepancies with Blairs Operations and Corporate Customer Service Provides tracking information to Corporate and customers regarding rush shipments. A commitment to company-wide quality and safety is required. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Thorough knowledge and understanding of distribution warehouse procedures, practices, and regulations. Ability to communicate with management, colleagues, line staff, and individuals outside the company in order to meet departmental goals. Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and JDE. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Knowledge of how to operate machinery for shrink wrapping, cardboard bailing for recycling, forklift, and pallet jack.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. One to three years' experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid State Driver's License required.

Pay We offer competitive pay based on job-related skills, experience, relevant education, training, and geographic location. The starting hourly pay rate is $19.90. Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, the Company's compensation guidelines, and business needs.
