POSITION SUMMARY
prepares customer orders for shipping and receiving. Manages all administrative logistical details for all outbound shipments processed by outside carriers and internal Fleet. Manages all logistical details for all outbound domestic and international export shipments done by outside carriers and Freight Forwarders Obtains quotes and selects vendors for freight and freight forwarding services Coordinates with Internal and External contacts on shipments Investigates and resolves customers issues pertaining to shipping or paperwork Examines, prepares and administers documents such as invoices, bills of lading and shipping statements Ensures accuracy and integrity of shipments and packaging to ensure timely deliveries Maintains compliance with ITAR and other governmental regulations Shipping material by FedEx and UPS Files all freight claims for damaged goods and tracks them on a weekly basis. Resolves disputes. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders. Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed. Must be able to drive forklift and side loader. Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures. Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards. Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements. Properly stencils shipping information as required. Provides maintenance and keeps records of Maintenance on all equipment assigned. Maintains clean work area. Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures. Participates in TQM and SPC meetings. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Shipping and Receiving experience a strong plus!
