Warehouse Associate Eagle Steel Door Distributors - Birmingham, AL Job Overview Eagle Steel Door Distributors is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for receiving and organizing inventory, pulling customer orders, loading and unloading materials, glazing garage doors, insulating garage-door sections, and helping maintain a safe and efficient warehouse. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable working with large and heavy garage-door materials in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Receive, unload, inspect, and properly store incoming shipments. Pull and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently. Verify door models, sizes, colors, quantities, springs, tracks, hardware, and other components before orders leave the warehouse. Load customer vehicles, trailers, and company delivery trucks safely. Glaze garage doors by installing glass, window frames, decorative inserts, and related components. Measure and verify glass size, window placement, insert style, and door specifications before installation. Insulate garage-door sections using the correct insulation materials and installation procedures. Cut, fit, secure, and inspect insulation to ensure a clean and professional finished product. Inspect glazed and insulated door sections for proper fit, appearance, quality, and damage. Use NetSuite to assist with inventory tracking, order fulfillment, item verification, and warehouse documentation. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other warehouse equipment safely. Assist with inventory counts and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies. Organize garage doors, sections, tracks, springs, hardware, and other inventory in assigned locations. Communicate with office staff regarding order status, missing materials, damaged products, or inventory concerns. Assist customers professionally during order pickup. Keep warehouse floors, racks, loading areas, and workstations clean and organized. Follow all company safety procedures, including proper glass-handling and lifting practices. Perform additional warehouse and door-assembly duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous warehouse, manufacturing, construction-material, glazing, insulation, assembly, or shipping and receiving experience is preferred but not required. Garage-door industry experience is a plus. Forklift experience or certification is preferred. Ability to learn and use NetSuite, barcode scanners, and inventory-management systems. Basic reading, counting, measuring, and computer skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow work orders accurately. Ability to safely use basic hand tools and warehouse equipment. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions and work well independently and as part of a team. Professional attitude when interacting with customers and coworkers. Valid driver's license is preferred. Training may be provided for the right candidate. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy or bulky materials safely. Ability to handle long and oversized garage-door sections with assistance when needed. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive assembly, glazing, and insulation tasks. Ability to work safely around glass, springs, tracks, tools, forklifts, and warehouse equipment. Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may be hot or cold depending on the season.
