Qualifications and Experience:

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology required ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred Valid or pending Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) certification and/or Alabama State DOE SLP certification (can start with one while proceeding with the other) Previous experience working in a school setting with elementary or intermediate age groups strongly desired Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills Ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide speech and language therapy services to students in grades 3 through 6 Guide students in meeting communication, language, voice, and fluency goals as determined by Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Document student progress, maintain thorough records, and participate in IEP meetings Work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the school environment Communicate regularly with teaching staff and parents regarding student progress and recommendations Stay up to date with best practices and developments in school-based speech-language services Experience the rewards of influencing students lives over the course of the school year while maintaining a flexible, part-time schedule.
