Temp-to-Hire Job Summary Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator / Material Handler for a scrap metal recycling company in Glendale, AZ. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for an individual with experience operating mobile or heavy material-handling equipment in an industrial environment. The Mobile Equipment Operator is responsible for safely moving, organizing, loading, unloading, and processing scrap metal throughout the recycling yard. Equipment may utilize large attachments such as shears, orange-peel grapples, and contractor grapples . Responsibilities Operate mobile material-handling equipment throughout the scrap metal yard. Load and unload trucks hauling scrap material. Inspect materials and determine metal grades for inventory tracking. Perform daily equipment and safety inspections. Communicate with office personnel and truck drivers to determine materials to be loaded. Independently process and organize scrap metal as needed. Feed scrap material into shredders, balers, and shears for processing. Organize materials to maximize available yard space. Perform routine operator maintenance, including refueling, lubrication, cooling-system cleaning, and housekeeping. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work safely around customers, drivers, equipment operators, and other yard employees. Qualifications Previous Material Handler or similar mobile equipment operating experience preferred . Experience operating equipment in a recycling, scrap metal, industrial, construction, or similar environment is a plus. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and truck drivers. High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Must be able to pass a drug test and medical physical .

Pay:
