- Job Description
- The Material Handler (1st Shift) plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by safely moving, storing, and tracking raw materials, parts, and finished products throughout the facility. This position ensures production lines are consistently supplied, inventory remains accurate and organized, and all material handling activities align with established safety and quality standards.
- Responsibilities
- + Transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility to designated areas, including the production floor, warehouse, and shipping zones.
+ Supply production lines with required materials to meet manufacturing schedules and support uninterrupted production.
+ Assist with inventory control by performing cycle counts, documenting material locations and quantities, and promptly reporting discrepancies to the supervisor.
+ Properly label, organize, and store materials in assigned locations to optimize space utilization and ensure easy accessibility.
+ Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with all safety guidelines and procedures.
+ Load and unload shipments, ensuring materials are delivered to the correct locations in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area by following safety procedures and OSHA regulations and using required personal protective equipment.
+ Identify and report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or workplace issues to the supervisor immediately.
+ Document and track material movements and storage locations to support accurate inventory and timely replenishment of low-stock items.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance material handling processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and warehouse staff, to coordinate material flow and resolve issues.
+ Adapt to changing priorities and production needs while maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
- Essential Skills
- + Experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or HVAC-related environment.
+ Proficiency in using RF scanners to track materials entering and leaving inventory and to record storage locations.
+ Ability to document and track material storage locations and inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability.
+ Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks to support material movement and production activities. +
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when handling, recording, and organizing materials.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support production and warehouse operations.
+ Ability to lift, bend, stretch, and stand for long periods while performing material handling tasks.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with EPICOR is a plus. + Knowledge of HVAC systems or manufacturing processes is an advantage. + Experience in an industrial or sheet metal fabrication environment is beneficial. + Comfort working with industry 4.0 technologies and modern manufacturing systems.

- Work Environment
- This role is based in an air-conditioned, modern manufacturing facility equipped with industry 4.
0 technology in Mesa, Arizona. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime as needed. The position involves regular physical activity, including standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are required to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment. Personal protective equipment is required and must be worn as directed to maintain safety and compliance with OSHA and facility guidelines.

- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $22.
00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
