POSITION SUMMARY
A general laborer is responsible for efficiently producing high quality and safe products to meet company and customer specifications. Responsibilities will include assisting in other departments or other duties as requested by management. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP's, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately. Maintain and operate all equipment in a safe manner to avoid injury to self or others and demonstrate safety as a top priority. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. Report all Food Safety & Quality issues to a Supervisor, QA Manager, or Senior Manager. Inspecting/sorting the eggs and ensuring the best quality product is being packaged. Responsible for confirming and verifying weight of product. Ensure the labels and product date and type is correct. Operates palletizer equipment to stack, secure, and prepare pallets according to production and safety standards. Cross-trained in General Labor I and II functions, including performing packing duties in CVP (organizing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment) and operating palletizer equipment to stack, secure, and prepare pallets according to production and safety standards. Ensure that bags and pails are properly sealed and clean. Inspect/Check the quality of eggs. Removes broken eggs. Understands dates, expiration and item numbers. Minimize product loss. Keep work area neat, clean, and sanitary. Report all work-related injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately. Use appropriate safety equipment when required (ear plugs, rubber boots, safety glasses, face shields, aprons, bump caps, etc.) Follow instructions from supervisor and cooperate with coworkers and other department; be willing to fill in where needed. Maintain good personal hygiene. Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Zero - one-year prior manufacturing experience preferred High school diploma or GED preferred.
