As an Outbound Dockworker at Roy Miller Freight Lines, you will play a crucial role in our logistics and distribution team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and accurate loading and unloading of shipments from our dock. You will work closely with team members to maintain a smooth workflow, adhere to safety standards, and meet shipping deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading:
Efficiently load and unload shipments from bobtails and trailers. Ensure all items are handled with care to prevent damage. Use appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies. Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs immediately. Maintain a clean and organized dock area.
Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on dock equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions or concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in warehousing, shipping, or a related field is a plus. Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification may be required). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
Compensation and Schedule:
$20-$22 range Shift start time 4pm Monday - Friday Full time position
