Our Oakland warehouse, with occasional drop-offs to our Berkeley and San Francisco cafes A Little About Us We're a Pakistani-American family that started a chai cafe in Berkeley because we wanted a space that felt like ours — somewhere we could share our culture the way we grew up, over a cup of chai with people we care about. Our mission is simple:
create more friendships in the world, one cup of chai at a time. We've grown into multiple cafes, a catering team, and a retail line, and we're still growing. Nearly everything people drink at home — and a lot of what our cafes run on — comes out of our Oakland warehouse. That's where you come in. The Role This is the hands-on, behind-the-scenes side of elaichi. You'll produce and pack our core chai blend, fulfill online orders, keep the warehouse organized and stocked, and get product to our cafes when they need it. You'll work closely with our Warehouse Manager and pick up whatever the day calls for. It's a good fit for someone who likes working with their hands, takes pride in a clean and well-run space, and cares that the bag of chai showing up on someone's doorstep was packed with the same attention we'd give a cup we served them in person. What You'll Do Production Blend, weigh, and pack our core chai blend to spec Label, seal, date-code, and case product for retail, wholesale, and our cafes Keep production areas clean and sanitized before, during, and after every run Follow batch recipes and procedures exactly, and speak up when something looks off Fulfillment Pick, pack, and ship online orders accurately and on time Print labels, prep shipments, and coordinate carrier pickups Quality-check every order before it goes out — right items, right quantities, packed to arrive intact Warehouse Receive and put away incoming inventory Count and track stock, and flag anything running low before it becomes a problem Organize and maintain the space — shelving, labeling, staging areas, clear walkways Break down boxes, handle trash and recycling, and keep up general upkeep Support our Warehouse Manager on projects as they come up Deliveries Drive a company vehicle to drop product and supplies at our Berkeley and San Francisco cafes Occasional supply runs and pickups around the Bay What We're Looking For Reliable. Three days a week only works if we can count on those three days. Careful with details. Weights, counts, labels, and addresses all have to be right the first time. Comfortable on your feet. This role involves standing for long stretches, bending, and repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs. Self-directed. You'll often be working through a list on your own without someone checking in every hour. A valid driver's license and clean driving record. You'll be driving our vehicle — no personal car needed. A valid Food Handler's Card, or the ability to get one within your first 30 days. Organized by instinct. You leave a space better than you found it. A clear communicator. If something breaks, runs out, or doesn't look right, we need to hear about it. Warehouse, production, fulfillment, or food manufacturing experience — preferred Experience with shipping or fulfillment software like Shopify or ShipStation — preferred Pallet jack or forklift experience — preferred Experience in food and beverage, CPG, or a small business where you wore a lot of hats — preferred Our Core Values Lead with action. Stay proactive, flexible, and focused. Own outcomes from start to finish. Care about people. Lead with empathy, notice the little things, and work as one team. Raise the bar. Stay curious, keep learning, and take pride in the details that make an experience exceptional. Do the right thing. Act with integrity, honesty, optimism, and intention. Compensation and Benefits $20/hour, part-time, roughly 20 hours a week across 3 weekday shifts. Paid sick leave- Paid training
