La Verne, CA Job Details Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Driver's License Warehouse experience GPS devices Materials handling Cargo securement protocols Full Job Description Job Summary As a Warehouse Worker/Driver at DSE Electric, Inc., you will support both warehouse operations and field productivity by receiving, organizing and delivering materials and equipment to jobsites. This role is responsible for maintaining an organized, efficient, and safe warehouse while ensuring materials are accurately prepared, properly secured, and delivered on time. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision. This position requires a proactive team member who can communicate effectively with the office, warehouse, purchasing, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Receive and inspect incoming materials, tools, and equipment. Unload deliveries and verify quantities and contents against purchase orders and packing slips. Store, organize, sort, and maintain materials, tools, and equipment in designated areas. Pick, pack, and stage materials for jobsite deliveries. Maintain accurate inventory and material usage records. Notify Purchasing and/or Project Management of backorders, shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies. Notify Project Management within 48 hours of any damaged goods received, including a detailed description and photos. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse, including restrooms and common areas. Assist with maintaining fire exits, spill kits, safety signage, and other warehouse safety requirements. Deliveries & Material Handling Pickup and deliver electrical materials, supplies, equipment, and jobsite consumables the warehouse, and jobsites. Verify delivery contents against packing slips or purchase orders before leaving the warehouse or vendor. Ensure materials are properly labeled, packed, and prepared for the appropriate project. Prepare and load delivery vehicles for field requests. Properly secure all materials, tools, and equipment using appropriate tie-downs, straps, and protective equipment. Assist with loading and unloading materials at the warehouse, vendors, and jobsites. Deliver urgent materials as needed to support field productivity and time-sensitive projects. Maintain delivery logs, obtain required signatures, and submit delivery documentation. Vehicle & Safety Compliance Keep delivery vehicles clean, fueled, and properly maintained. Report mechanical issues, vehicle damage, or safety concerns promptly. Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and DSE safety requirements and driving standards. Follow the DSE Driver Safety Manual, including requirements for safe driving, vehicle inspections, load securement, and incident reporting. Use proper lifting techniques and required PPE when handling materials and equipment. Operate vehicles and warehouse equipment safely and responsibly. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate records of material receipts, transfers, deliveries, and usage. Use warehouse and inventory systems, including QuickBooks, Viewpoint, or other company systems, as required. Maintain documentation needed for job costing and project tracking. Communicate with Purchasing, Project Management, warehouse staff, and field personnel regarding delivery schedules, shortages, delays, damaged materials, or changes in delivery requirements. Report missing, damaged, or incorrect materials promptly and assist with resolving discrepancies. General Duties Support warehouse operations when not assigned to delivery runs. Assist with organizing materials, tools, and equipment and maintaining accurate inventory. Perform other warehouse, delivery, and material-handling duties as assigned. Core Competencies Strong knowledge of basic construction materials, tools, and electrical equipment. Reliable and punctual with a commitment to jobsite service. Professional and courteous when interacting with vendors, coworkers, and jobsite personnel. Excellent road safety and defensive driving skills. Ability to follow delivery schedules and adapt to route changes as needed. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical work throughout the day. Working hours are from 5am-1:30pm. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid California driver's license with clean driving record. 1-2 years of experience in a delivery, warehouse or logistics role. Familiarly with jobsite safety practices and basic load securement techniques. Forklift certification preferred. Ability to navigate GPS and delivery management apps effectively.
