OVERVIEW
This position performs a dual role as both a Delivery Driver and Warehouse Technician, supporting efficient distribution and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of building materials, including windows, exterior/interior doors, trim, hardware and related products to customer job sites, warehouses, and retail locations. This position also requires performing specialized warehouse functions, including equipment maintenance, rack inspections, and overall facility upkeep to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate company delivery vehicles in accordance with all applicable traffic laws and company policies Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in a manner that prevents damage and ensures safety Verify delivery contents against packing slips and confirm accuracy Deliver materials to residential and commercial job sites, including active construction environments Provide professional and courteous customer service Document proof of delivery by taking clear pictures of all materials upon delivery Communicate with management, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery updates or issues Conduct routine vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on company vehicles and warehouse equipment, as needed and with management approval Maintain delivery vehicles in a clean, organized, and professional condition, including regular removal of debris and reporting any cleanliness or maintenance issues Ensure materials in the warehouse are properly stored, labeled and protected from damage Follow all applicable workplace safety standards, including proper lifting techniques and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support business operations and customer service needs DOT Compliance Comply with all applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and requirements Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Valid California driver's license and driving record that meets company and insurance requirements Ability to safely lift and carry heavy materials (up to 75-100 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation) Ability to safely operate flatbed trucks, box trucks and other material-handling equipment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Prior delivery driving experience, particularly with building materials or construction delivery Class A or B commercial driver's license (CDL) or familiarity with applicable DOT requirements Knowledge of construction site safety and/or building materials
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Technical / Functional Skills Route planning and navigation (GPS and delivery routing systems) Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DOT compliance) Proper load securement using straps, chains, tarps, and other appropriate equipment Interpersonal / Behavioral Skills Clear and professional communication with customers, dispatch, and team members Ability to give and follow instructions accurately Attention to accuracy in orders, quality checks, and delivery paperwork Ability to promptly report proof of delivery, delays, issues, or damages
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment Combination of driving, warehouse, and job site environments Regular exposure to construction settings and active delivery areas Work around heavy machinery and moving vehicles (forklifts, trucks) Requires strict adherence to safety procedures and DOT regulations Physical Demands Ability to lift (up to 75-100 lbs), carry, push, and pull heavy materials (with or without reasonable accommodation) Frequent driving (prolonged sitting), standing, walking, bending, and lifting Ability to safely navigate active job sites, including uneven surfaces and stairs, while carrying or maneuvering materials Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions Exposure to loud noise from trucks, forklifts, and equipment
