Custom Grill Islands and Backyard Remodels is hiring skilled laborers to help build outdoor BBQ islands and fireplaces/pits and backyard remodels. Experience applicants preferred, but we will train the right candidate with general Construction experience or Hardscape experience with landscaping knowledge (at least 2 years) & power tool knowledge and must know how to use and understand the line marks on a tape measure. If your experience is over 8+ years, please only qualified applicants (no retailers, uber drivers, security guard, line cooks or forklift drivers/whse workers.) Applicant must have a vehicle and a valid driver license and Social Security card or ITIN. Although a majority of the manufacturing will be performed at our shop, on occasion, you will be required to drive to a job site where your work hours will begin and end on the job site. This is a full-time job (40+ hours a week). Paid training during 90-day trial period after which there are 7 paid holidays and 5 accumulated personal days. Plus, received one (1) week paid vacation after your 1st annual year. Entry level starting pay $21.00/hr with a pay increase after the 90-day trial period and could be higher for manufacturing, building and hardscape experience.

General duties:

• Clean and organize shop at end of workday
• Follow & understand company layouts and measurements and work well from verbal instructions
• Cutting different building material: Metal, wood, Stone, Concrete patios, Cement board, etc
• Assembling Steel Stud, securing cement boards to framing to build BBQ islands / Fire pits, and more
• Receiving incoming shipment, label shipments with customer info and place in storage area
• We will train new candidates for hand stuccoing and machine blown stucco procedures for all BBQ islands, fireplaces, retaining walls
• At times, heavy lifting up to 95lbs - assisting with carrying granite slab and installing, lifting partially finished island and placing on dollies, lifting bags of concrete. transporting wheelbarrows with dirt or gravel up ramps into dump trailor.
• Other duties may be assigned, like digging trenches, framing walls, drywall (on rare occasions), loading and unloading blocks, bags of stone, and more

Basic Tool Experience:

• Knowledge of handheld power tools and safety procedures. Jack hammers, leveling power tools, chisel hammers, grinders (containing the metal spark spray)
• Basic mathematical skills (Using a tape measure, adding & subtracting material thickness) to calculate final dimensions
• Good written and oral communication skills. Following instructions and asking questions when you don't understand the project
• Good customer service skills.
• Candidates with Construction background, electrical knowledge, Natural Gas & Plumbing, Hardscaping such as laying pavers, pouring concrete, building wood & Aluminum pergola, a Plus!!
• Knowledge with metal studs & framing, a plus
• Work hours (30 min lunchbreak):
• Shop hours 7am to 3:30 pm. Summer hours are 7am - 4:30pm
• Job site hours may extend longer than an 8-hour workday.
