Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Lumber Yard Hand and become a vital part of our fast-paced, safety-focused warehouse environment. In this role, you will assist with the distribution, loading, and unloading of lumber and building materials, ensuring smooth operations and excellent service for our customers. Your energetic approach and attention to safety will help maintain an organized yard, support inventory accuracy, and uphold our commitment to efficient warehouse operations. You will aslo provide friendly service at the cash register. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to develop your skills in materials handling, heavy equipment operation, and warehouse management. Duties Assist with the loading and unloading of lumber and building materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately utilizing inventory management systems Operate forklifts safely in accordance with OSHA standards and safety protocols Maintain a clean, organized yard by stacking pallets, sorting materials, and ensuring clear pathways for safe movement Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against orders and documenting inbound/outbound loads Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting to move materials within the yard efficiently Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations Provide service at the casher register Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or shipping & receiving environments Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and load/unload machinery safely Strong understanding of inventory management systems for accurate order processing Excellent manual handling skills with a focus on heavy lifting and materials handling techniques Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying quantities accurately Knowledge of warehouse operations procedures including safety protocol adherence per OSHA standards Prior experience in warehouse supervisor roles or with heavy equipment operation is a plus but not required Ability to handle multiple customers/projects at once Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to help maintain a customer focused culture Ability to use a cash register, computer, telephone and other equipment as needed Join us to be part of a lively team dedicated to safe practices, efficient operations, and outstanding customer service. $16.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
