Job Description

Nesco Resource is looking for a Material Handler located in Bethel, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.
MUST HAVE
Sit-down forklift experience
Shift:
Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30
PM Pay:
$20-$21/hour, depending on experience
Overview:
The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials within production and warehouse areas, as well as cleaning and preparing spools used in wire annealing and shipping operations. This role ensures production flow, quality standards, and workplace safety are maintained.
Responsibilities:
Transport raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods between departments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists. Load and unload trucks, verify materials against shipping documents, and store items in designated areas. Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory levels. Communicate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability. Mount proper take-up spools/pails and set correct tension and pitch on spoolers. Perform visual inspections for surface defects including splits, slivers, scratches, and oxidation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience operating a propane, sit-down forklift Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. Forklift certification with experience loading/unloading trailers. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, walk, and reach. Manual dexterity, along with strong visual and auditory ability. Occasional exposure to dust, lubricants, or seasonally uncomfortable conditions.
