General Production Worker Job Description Join our Operations Team in Southington, CT, as a General Production Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing standard and non-standard boxes, crates, skids, and pallets to ensure the safe shipment of finished products to our customers. Responsibilities Prioritize safety in all tasks and operations. Inspect materials for physical damage or defects before packaging. Select appropriate packaging materials to protect products during transit. Construct skids, boxes, crates, and pallets. Accurately measure materials using tape measures and other measuring devices. Operate banding and nail guns safely. Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes. Scan and stage orders in designated shipping and loading zones. Monitor linear footage of wood used for packaging export orders. Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by the supervisor. Essential Skills Experience in warehouse, material handling, and forklift operation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on deadlines. Experience with physical labor in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, landscaping, or general labor. High attention to detail with the ability to read and understand English instructions. Basic math skills for converting decimals and fractions, and reading tape measures and calipers. Dependable, punctual, and able to work well with others. Willingness to work required overtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous machining or experience directly related to duties preferred. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southington, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.36 - $25.59/hr.
