Job Description

Mel's Events is growing, and we're hiring a dependable, organized person to keep our event equipment clean, maintained, and ready to go. You'll work at our storage units, prepare equipment for upcoming events, load and unload trucks, and make sure every item returns to its proper place. If you take pride in an organized workspace and notice the details that others miss, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Pull, count, and stage equipment using event orders and loading checklists, including dance floors, tables, chairs, and photo booth equipment. Load and unload trucks safely, protecting equipment and securing loads for transport. Count and inspect returned items. Report missing pieces, damage, and repair needs promptly. Clean equipment and allow it to dry properly before storing it. Perform basic equipment maintenance within your training and flag repairs that need additional attention. Keep storage units organized, label equipment locations, maintain clear access paths, and help keep inventory counts accurate. Safely move and park box trucks up to 26 feet long between storage units for loading and unloading. Coordinate with the office and delivery team so each truck leaves with the correct equipment on time. Requirements Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow checklists accurately. Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently while keeping the team informed. Experience safely maneuvering large trucks, including backing and parking a 26-foot box truck. A valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicles operated. Ability to perform repeated lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing, with or without reasonable accommodation. Use team lifting and moving equipment for heavy or bulky items. Comfort working in storage units and outdoors in Florida heat. Warehouse, inventory, moving, equipment maintenance, or event rental experience is a plus. Schedule Work is based at our storage units. Hours follow equipment preparation and return needs.
