Material Handler

Material Handler Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Warehouse Picker to join our 1st shift/2nd shift team at a large distribution center in Davenport, Iowa. This contract‑to‑hire role focuses on accurate picking, packing, and movement of parts , with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and attention to detail rather than production volume. Key Responsibilities Sort boxes and place them on the correct pick pallets for forklift operators Pick and pack products ranging from small handheld boxes to heavy machine parts Operate lifting equipment to safely move and position materials Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and verify inventory accurately Load and unload semi‑trailers and incoming/outgoing freight Follow detailed work instructions to prevent shipping errors Maintain accurate inventory handling and support general warehouse operations Assist with order preparation, packaging, and shipment staging Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment Follow all warehouse safety and equipment guidelines Work mandatory overtime, including extended shifts and occasional Saturdays Collaborate respectfully with team members in a diverse, inclusive environment Required Qualifications 3-6 months of warehouse or distribution experience Experience with picking and packing in a warehouse environment Ability to learn and use RF scanners Ability to regularly lift to 75 lbs Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as business needs require Strong attention to detail and quality‑focused work habits Ability to work well in a team‑based, multicultural environment Preferred Qualifications Forklift experience (training and certification provided if needed) Experience loading and unloading trucks or semi‑trailers Experience in general labor or warehouse distribution Familiarity with inventory control and the order‑picking process Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
