General Laborer / Production Operator Job Description This role focuses on producing high-quality decking products in a safe, efficient manufacturing environment. You will support the full production process, from handling raw and finished materials to assisting with machine operation and extrusion line activities. The position is ideal for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting that involves standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Prior manufacturing experience is helpful but not required, and there are clear opportunities for training and advancement. Responsibilities Stack and package finished decking products to meet production and quality standards. Perform routine quality inspections and checks to ensure products meet specifications. Move materials throughout the production area safely and efficiently. Label products and prepare orders accurately for shipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times. Support production equipment by assisting with basic operation and monitoring. Assist with machine operation, including starting, stopping, and adjusting equipment as needed, depending on experience and skill level. Help with production setups and changeovers to minimize downtime and maintain workflow. Assist with troubleshooting basic production or equipment issues under guidance. Support extrusion line operations, including working with extrusion machines and related equipment. Use hand tools, tape measures, and other basic tools to measure, assemble, and handle materials. Perform general labor and general production tasks as assigned to support overall plant operations. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment if trained and authorized. Handle heavy lifting tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, while following proper safety procedures. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor and production tasks in a manufacturing environment. Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds safely. Strong focus on safety and adherence to safety procedures. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working around machines and production equipment. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Basic measuring skills, including accurate use of a tape measure. Ability to perform quality checks and inspections on finished products. Comfort using hand tools and performing basic assembly tasks. Willingness and ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions, including very hot or cold temperatures. Reliability and dependability in attendance and job performance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general production or manufacturing is preferred but not required. Background in extrusion operation or working with extrusion machines is a plus. Experience with machine operation and machine setup/changeovers is beneficial. Familiarity with troubleshooting basic production or equipment issues is an advantage. Construction experience or exposure to construction materials is helpful. Ability to operate a forklift or other material handling equipment is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Meridian, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
