This energetic position involves operating heavy equipment, managing waste and recycling materials, and maintaining a safe, organized outdoor work environment. Your efforts will contribute to reducing landfill waste while ensuring efficient operations at our recycling facility. We are committed to providing a positive work atmosphere that values safety, teamwork, and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities Operate material handling equipment such as loaders, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and excavators to move tires and recyclable materials efficiently within the yard. Manage tire and recyclable waste collection, sorting, and storage in compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety adherence. Assist with landfill management activities, including waste segregation and disposal processes. Maintain cleanliness of the work area by performing regular sanitation and debris removal tasks. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), especially when handling hazardous materials or working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Support environmental compliance efforts by adhering to hazardous materials regulations and recycling best practices. Skills Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, or roll-off trucks. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on equipment. Strong understanding of recyclable materials handling, solid waste management, and landfill operations. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in outdoor environments. Knowledge of safety regulations related to hazardous materials and general workplace safety protocols. Excellent material handling skills with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions with a focus on sanitation and environmental compliance.
