Sanitation Associate Job Summary:

The Warehouse Utility / Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. This position involves collecting and disposing of trash, breaking down cardboard cartons, stacking pallets, operating the trash compactor, and assisting with general warehouse housekeeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pick up and remove trash and debris throughout the warehouse. Empty and transport trash bins to designated disposal areas. Dump into the warehouse trash compactor in accordance with safety procedures. Break down cardboard cartons and prepare recyclable materials for disposal. Stack and organize empty pallets in designated areas. Maintain clean and orderly work areas, aisles, and common warehouse spaces. Assist with general warehouse cleanup and housekeeping duties. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or other safety concerns to management. Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous warehouse, janitorial, sanitation, or material-handling experience preferred. Ability to perform physical work for an extended period. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required. Ability to work safely around warehouse equipment and machinery. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to work around cardboard, pallets, trash, and general warehouse debris. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a trash compactor.
