Peoria County•3.4 Peoria, IL Job Details $18.53•$27.79 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Spreadsheets Word embeddings Windows Driver's License Computer hardware Desktop applications Productivity software Full Job Description Job Description Summary Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Election Specialist manages, maintains, and troubleshoots voting system equipment, while staying in compliance with local, state, and federal election laws. The Election Specialist also assists with various duties relating to the administration of elections and voter registration. Additionally, the Election Specialist will train and supervise temporary election specialists and election judges. Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and a minimum of two years office experience and/or combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must possess a strong aptitude of computers and system operations. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based software including Microsoft Word and Excel required. General knowledge of election administration and voting processes preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with, the public, candidates, elected officials, county elections personnel, State Board of Elections personnel, Election Judges, and Registrars in an ever-changing political environment. Must be detail oriented and able to work under the pressure of deadlines. Effective filing and organizational skills. Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot equipment as relating to the position. Must have valid Illinois driver's license. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
