Non-Exempt Primary Purpose of job: The Press Room Operator / Material Handler supports daily production operations by staging and moving materials, operating production equipment, maintaining accurate inventory, performing quality inspections, assisting with receiving, and packaging finished products according to the production schedule.

Essential functions of the job:

Understand and follow all department policies, procedures, safety requirements, and guidelines while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Load workstations and stage and move materials throughout the facility according to shop orders and production needs. Safely operate Press Room equipment related to production requirements. Safely operate Burnishing Room equipment related to the deburring process. Perform required quality inspections throughout production runs. Use measuring tools to verify product specifications as required. Assist Set-Up personnel with production and equipment needs. Assist with maintaining accurate inventory counts within the ERP system. Support receiving by verifying incoming components against invoices and delivering materials to the appropriate locations. Obtain, move, sort, assemble, and package materials and finished products as needed. Maintain proper material flow to production areas to support the production schedule. Abilities:

Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, and measuring. Ability to use measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, tape measures,and rulers. Ability to identify potential safety hazards and exercise appropriate judgment. Ability to safely operate production equipment after proper training. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to follow production schedules, work instructions, and shop orders.

Education and Experience:

HS Diploma or GED preferred Forklift certification preferred Previous manufacturing, machine operation, material handling, or related experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

This position requires 10% clerical and planning and 90% material handling, machine operation, and/or walking and assisting production employees. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and proper foot protection must be worn. Ability to lift weights up to 45 lbs.
