Job Title:
General Labourer Job Description This role involves building and assembling PODs that hold inventory on a robotics floor within a busy warehouse environment. You will work as part of a team to complete a set number of PODs within specific timeframes, performing repetitive, physically demanding tasks that include heavy lifting and the use of hand and power tools. You will also help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work area in line with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Build and assemble PODs that hold inventory on the robotics floor according to specified standards and timelines. Construct and assemble metal workstations and inventory shelving units using appropriate tools and materials. Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve daily and hourly production targets for completed PODs. Perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving materials and equipment. Use hand tools such as hammers, rivet guns, tape measures, and pallet jacks safely and effectively. Operate power tools as required for assembly and construction tasks, following all safety guidelines. Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of tools and equipment, and report any hazards or incidents promptly. Adapt to a loud, fast-paced, and sometimes chaotic warehouse environment while maintaining focus and productivity. Stand and walk for extended periods of time to complete assigned tasks across the work area. Essential Skills Experience in general labour work within construction, production, or assembly environments. Commercial construction and assembly experience, particularly with metal structures and shelving units. Ability to use a range of hand tools, including hammers, rivet guns, tape measures, and pallet jacks. Experience working with various types of power tools in a safe and controlled manner. Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure for measuring and cutting materials. Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials up to approximately 45-50 pounds repetitively. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a warehouse setting. Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to meeting production goals. Safety-conscious mindset with a willingness to follow established procedures and guidelines. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in carpentry or similar trades involving construction and assembly work. Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment with inventory handling. Comfort working in a loud, high-activity setting with changing priorities. Strong attention to detail when assembling and building structures. Good communication skills to coordinate tasks and collaborate with team members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Whitestown, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
