About Royal Productions Royal Productions is a national AV and live event production company with nearly 40 years in the business. We run in-house AV programs at hotel properties all around the country and operate a full road show and external production division. From conferences and galas to corporate meetings and national media events, every show we do starts in the same place: our warehouse. The Role We are looking for a dependable, organized Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Metairie. You will work side by side with our Warehouse Manager as the second set of hands and eyes in the building, helping keep our inventory accurate, our gear show-ready, and our orders going out the door complete and on time. This is a hands-on job. One day you are pulling and prepping gear for a show, the next you are checking in a return, counting inventory, or running equipment to one of our downtown New Orleans hotel properties. If you like staying busy, take pride in an organized space, and want a way into the live event industry, this is a great place to start. Audio visual experience is ideal, but it is not a requirement. If you are the right person, we will teach you the gear. What You'll Do Inventory Management Help maintain an accurate count of all audio, video, lighting, and scenic equipment in the warehouse Scan gear in and out against orders and pull sheets in our inventory system, and flag anything missing, damaged, or miscounted Label, barcode, and shelve equipment so everything has a home and can be found quickly Assist with regular cycle counts and full inventory audits Keep consumables like gaff tape, batteries, and adapters stocked, and speak up before we run low Order Prep & Returns Pull, stage, and pack equipment for upcoming events, hotel property requests, and road shows Test and inspect gear before it leaves and again when it comes back Clean, coil, and restock returned equipment Tag damaged gear, log it for repair, and handle minor fixes like cable repair and basic maintenance as you learn Help build and prep kits, racks, and systems so they arrive on site ready to work Help load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, working alongside our technicians and freelance crew Deliveries & Pickups For candidates with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record: make equipment deliveries and pickups at our downtown New Orleans hotel properties and other local venues Secure loads properly and handle equipment with care in transit Get paperwork signed and confirm what was dropped off or picked up Keep company vehicles clean, fueled, and report any maintenance issues Represent Royal Productions professionally with hotel staff and our on-site teams Warehouse Upkeep Keep the warehouse, loading dock, and work areas clean, organized, and safe Follow safe lifting, stacking, and equipment handling practices at all times Help receive and put away new equipment and supply shipments Back up the Warehouse Manager and cover day-to-day warehouse needs when they are out or tied up on a project Occasionally help with event load-ins, setups, and strikes when the team needs extra hands Pitch in wherever the team needs a hand; we all wear multiple hats here What We're Looking For The Essentials Reliable and on time. The shows do not wait, and neither can the gear Organized and detail-oriented; you notice when a count is off or a case is packed wrong Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, push heavy road cases, and be on your feet for most of the day Comfortable with basic computer or tablet use for inventory tracking Works well with a small team, communicates clearly, and can also be trusted to work on your own Flexible with the occasional early morning, evening, or weekend when the event calendar calls for it Bonus Points Audio visual experience. Ideal, but not required for the right candidate. Familiarity with audio, video, or lighting gear, or a background in live events, hotel AV, or an AV rental shop, is a big plus Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for delivery and pickup duties; driving record will be verified) Experience driving box trucks or cargo vans Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience Forklift or pallet jack experience Experience with inventory or rental management software A real interest in learning the technical side of the business We will train the right person.
