Job Title:
Warehouse Worker (Floater Pool) Job Description This role is part of a new floater pool initiative designed to support multiple departments and two different shifts within a manufacturing and warehouse environment. You will be scheduled to cover a specific shift at least two weeks in advance and will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks, including warehouse operations, packing, sorting, racking, stacking, and other functions as the role continues to evolve. This position requires flexibility, strong learning ability, and comfort working with a wide range of people and teams. Responsibilities Support multiple departments by working as a flexible floater across the facility, going wherever staffing needs are greatest. Perform general warehouse work, including material handling, loading, and unloading as needed. Carry out picking, packing, and sorting of products according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Assist with racking, stacking, and organizing inventory to maintain accurate warehouse inventory levels. Complete basic assembly tasks as required by different departments. Handle packaging activities, including labelling and preparing items for shipment or further processing. Maintain a clean and orderly work area through regular sweeping, housekeeping, and cleaning tasks. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Interact effectively with a wide variety of coworkers and supervisors as you move between departments. Learn, retain, and apply 45 different skill sets across the business to provide coverage when team members are out or when a department experiences an influx of orders. Adapt quickly to new tasks and department needs as the job description and responsibilities expand over time. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience in picking, packing, and sorting, or At least 6 months of warehousing experience, or At least 6 months of assembly experience. Ability to learn and retain multiple skill sets and apply them in different departments. Comfort working with a wide variety of people and adapting to different teams and supervisors. Basic understanding of warehouse inventory practices and material handling. Ability to follow safety procedures and work in compliance with facility guidelines. Capability to perform general labor tasks, including standing, moving, and handling materials throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with general labor and housekeeping tasks in an industrial or warehouse setting. Familiarity with cleaning, sweeping, and maintaining a tidy work environment. Exposure to packaging, labelling, and loading operations. Ability to work in different functional areas such as warehouse, packing, assembly, and machine-adjacent operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
