This is a high-impact, 6-month contract-to-direct opportunity designed for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to drive continuous improvement, optimize assembly workflows, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Process Optimization:
Evaluate, design, and improve manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and production workflows to maximize throughput and quality.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, eliminate bottlenecks, and lower production costs.
Documentation & Work Instructions:
Create, update, and maintain detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs), process routings, and assembly work instructions.
Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate manufacturing defects, quality escapes, or equipment downtime, implementing robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with production supervisors, quality control, tool design, and assembly operators to ensure smooth line integration and ergonomic workstations.
Equipment & Tooling Integration:
Assist in the selection, validation, and integration of new machinery, fixtures, and tooling into the manufacturing floor.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
3+ years of hands-on process engineering experience within a discrete manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, or production environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Systems:
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and computer-aided design or layout tools.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train operators and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
