Are you looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Worcester Envelope Company is seeking a dependable Material Handler to play a vital role in keeping our production and warehouse operations running efficiently. If you enjoy staying active, working as part of a team, and contributing to the production of quality products, we'd love to hear from you. Job Summary Stack pallets safely and at the appropriate heights. Perform physical counts on each pallet, check labeling and load tags. Report all inconsistencies to the operator immediately. Verify counts, utilize computer systems, and clearly communicate information with supervisors and co-workers. Communicate with previous shift supervisor or material handler for any manufacturing, packing, or shipping changes. Supervisory Responsibilities None Duties & Responsibilities Palletize all finished goods while keeping machine runways clear. Wrap all finished good pallets and put in staging area or in warehouse. Return all empty flat pallets to Cutting Department (Die Cut). Bring all rework and repackage orders to Rework Area. Deliver cartons, boxes, and tops to all machines from warehouse as needed. Return unused materials (pallets, carton boxes/covers, and inserts) to designated storage areas or return to warehouse. Record all warehouse transactions (take, return, or put-away) utilizing shipping tablet/computer. Raw material takes or return. Transfer finished goods to staging or warehouse area. Maintain work areas in clean and orderly condition. Return all equipment to the designated area. Maintain all tape machines in folding area, including changing tape rolls on automatic and hand tape dispensers. Notify Maintenance Department of any malfunctions. Perform other duties as required. Required Skills & Abilities Move in tight areas, sometimes in awkward positions. Decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Communicate effectively with Supervisors and Peers. Handle heavy objects. Ensure quality assurance. Read, write, and communicate information. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication) with whole numbers and fractions. Ability to read and understand measurements. Perform other duties as required. Education & Experience High School diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements Employees will be moving for the length of the shift, walking, standing, and lifting continuously. Must have finger and hand dexterity. May reach, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and reach at odd angles. The plant is constructed on concrete floors. Occasionally moves/lifts to 25 pounds; moves items over 100 pounds (with mechanical assistance). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to see and distinguish between colors. Typical manufacturing environment including prolonged exposure to loud machine noise, varying temperatures, and continuous work around machinery with fast-moving parts. Exposure may include extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, regularly working near moving mechanical parts, and occasionally working in high or precarious places.
