None Job Summary:
Dockhands act as the "face of Lyman-Morse" by creating a welcoming, safe, and efficient environment for our guests. This role combines hospitality and marine operations, ensuring every visitor experiences exceptional service on and off the docks.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting, assisting, and anticipating the needs of guests. Assist with dock operations, including vessel docking, fueling, line handling, and pump-out services while maintaining safety standards. Monitor marina premises to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with environmental and operational policies. Maintain the marina's image by keeping facilities, docks, and common areas neat, safe, and inviting. Report diesel and fuel levels throughout the day. Assist with customer parking Pump out customer dinghies following inclement weather Accurately report and/or charge fuel sales to customers
Requirements:
Required Educational Experience:
If born after January 1, 1998, must complete a NASBLA-approved boater safety course to operate a motorboat with more than 25 horsepower (LM whaler).
Other Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 16 years of age Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays Must have the ability to swim; however, dockhands are required to avoid going in the water Computer Skills
  • Ability to operate a tablet and/or computer to charge fuel, etc. Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, reports and memos. Ability to write legibly as well as speak clearly and concisely with customers and staff. Reasoning Skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral or written form. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in real time. Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measures, using whole numbers, fractions, pounds, metric weights, dollars, etc. Physical Demands

Dockhands must be able to stand for extended periods and work in varying outdoor weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle, type or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and typical of an office environment. The employee should expect to spend considerable time outside and on the water.
