THE ROLE
Under direct supervision, the Material Handler 1 Entry Level position(s) is responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment that assist in the manufacturing and assembly of

products including, but not limited to, Windows, Exterior Doors, Interior Doors, Patio Doors, and all other
JELD-WEN
related building products. Principle Duties and Responsibilities This position unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders and invoices Maintains records of received goods (rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary) and shipped goods Pulls and fills orders, lifts light and heavy items from receiving, shipping and other appropriate areas of the facility This position will also move materials, including scrap materials and equipment within the facility to the various assembly, production and disposal areas using powered industrial equipment This position may also assist in the assembly of the product itself; Labels finished products to match appropriate paperwork prior to shipment Assists the Material Handler II and III positions and other personnel as directed by management to achieve the goals and objectives of

as written above Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, steel toed boots/shoes, and associated safety equipment in order to be on the plant floor and assemble the product, and perform the job duties in a safe and efficient/effective manner Reports unsafe conditions to appropriate supervision Performs other duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities The ability to read and interpret scales and units of measurement Must possess basic computer knowledge The ability to read a tape measure accurately The ability to multiply, divide, add and subtract The ability to use hand and power tools and powered industrial equipment to move items throughout the facility The ability to prepare and maintain records of merchandise received and shipped May move or notify material handler II and III positions when a pallet or product is ready to be moved into production or inventory The ability to perform Entry Level, repetitive type functions associated with handling the

product line Must have the ability to read and comprehend basic verbal and written instructions Must be willing to accept and receive frequent training and supervision and assistance from more senior and experienced Material Handlers with regard to process The ability and motivation to learn The ability to work in a manufacturing and fast paced environment Very energetic and enthusiastic Reliable transportation, punctual and dependable Responsible attitude Team player Results driven Must be able to work overtime as needed.
