Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Side Loader Operator working on 1st and 2nd shifts! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating side loader forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within our warehouse distribution center. Your expertise in warehouse management and equipment handling will ensure smooth logistics operations, accurate inventory control, and timely order fulfillment. Duties Safely operate side loader forklifts and other material handling equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts to load and unload shipments. Manage inventory by accurately scanning barcodes, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and conducting regular stock counts. Assist with order picking using various equipment including order pickers and manual handling techniques to ensure accurate shipment preparation. Follow warehouse safety protocols including OSHA standards and forklift safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to shipping & receiving schedules; ensure proper stacking and securement of goods. Perform routine equipment inspections, basic repairs, and maintenance to keep machinery in optimal condition. Support warehouse distribution activities by maintaining a clean, organized workspace and assisting with inventory management tasks as needed. Requirements 10 + years of Forklift operation Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as side loaders, reach trucks, forklift trucks (Lift truck), clamp trucks, pallet jacks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar heavy machinery. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving processes, inventory management systems, and materials handling procedures. Knowledge of barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS). Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while following OSHA safety standards. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy. Prior experience in warehouse supervision or managing warehouse distribution processes is a plus. Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
