Job Description
The Opportunity The Material Handler role is responsible for ensuring production operators are fully supported with the correct materials required to produce customer orders safely, accurately, and on schedule. This position plays a critical role in production readiness by reviewing job tickets, organizing loads, and staging materials such as paper, inks, and supplies for each machine run. On a typical day, this role reviews production schedules, prepares and delivers materials to machines, verifies job bag instructions, and works closely with operators to ensure jobs are set up correctly. The Material Handler maintains organization and cleanliness within the department while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Review job tickets, production schedules, and job bag instructions to ensure materials are prepared accurately and on time. Organize, stage, and break down materials required for each production run. Set up machines with the appropriate paper, inks, and supplies according to job requirements. Operate material handling equipment, including aerators and pallet jacks, safely and effectively. Pull, deliver, stock, and return materials and finished loads as production demands change. Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with machine operators to support efficient production. Maintain assigned work areas through routine housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and trash removal. Follow all safety, quality, and operational instructions while supporting department goals.
