Recycling | Scrap Metal | Industrial | Heavy Equipment Heavy Equipment Operator Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Material Handler for a busy industrial operation in Bayonne, NJ. The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate material handlers, excavators, skid steers, front-end loaders, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to safely move, load, unload, and organize materials throughout the facility. This is a hands-on outdoor position ideal for someone with previous experience operating heavy machinery, construction equipment, excavators, loaders, material handlers, or similar industrial equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working independently and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities Safely operate front-end loaders, excavators, material handlers, skid steers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment. Move, load, unload, and organize materials throughout the facility. Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks. Complete required daily equipment and inspection reports. Identify and report equipment or safety concerns. Follow all company operating, environmental, and health and safety procedures. Work independently while coordinating with other team members. Perform additional yard and equipment-related duties as assigned. Heavy Equipment Operator Requirements Previous heavy equipment operating experience strongly preferred. Experience operating a material handler and/or excavator is a plus. Front-end loader, skid steer, forklift, or similar equipment experience preferred. High school diploma or GED. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions. Comfortable working around moving machinery and in a loud industrial environment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical work for extended periods. Pay $28.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
